What is working backward? Give an example

Working Backwards is a heuristic where you work from the desired goal back to the given condition.
Example: With a maze problem where you have to draw the correct path to the end. Most people tend to start from the end back to the beginning, not realizing they are "working backwards"

Working Backwards is the idea of starting of looking at the big picture and then at the steps needed to take to reach the big picture.
An example is winning a league championship in a sport. We look at what winning a league championship means and then we analysis how we must get there. Whether it is through hard practices and dedication or doing the little things right.

another example would be when you loose your keys, which i do alll the time and you need to find them you think of what you did and you retrace your steps. it is a heuristic that works back to achieve your goal:)

its when you start with the solution then you end up with what would have been the begging this can make things simpler because instead of getting stuck through the problem you already have the solution so u will be more on track about what you are looking for
