Hill climbing is a strategy in which you move closer to your goals as you move from step to step. An example would be when you solve a math problem. You have to follow certain steps to get to the solution.
Hill climbing can also be looked at as reviewing how far you have come and looking to see how much more you need to go. An example could be when taking a multiple choice test, you see how far you have progresses in the test and how much more you need to complete :]
