We create subgoals to help us solve large problems. By breaking a large problem down into smaller units, we can progress little by little until we actually complete that goal. It makes it easier then trying to accomplish the entire goal all at once. An example would be trying to grab a basketball rim. You might start of my first trying to grab the net, then slap the backboard, then touch the rim, and then finally grabbing it.

we create subgoals by breaking a problem into smaller, manageable pieces, each which is easier to to solve than as if solving the problem as a whole.
We create subgoals by breaking one big problem into smaller problems. we create subgoals in order to make problems a lot easier for us.
