Means-ends analysis is working out the solution from the end, or the solution, to work out the best strategy to solve the problem. Hill climbing is taking small steps to find the solution, where each step will lead to the next. They can both work as algorithms.
In order to have means-end analysis, you must have hill-climbing because its a "part of it." In means-end analysis, hill climbing is added with subgoals. For hill-climbing, you take little steps, step by step..such as rock climbing :)
Means ends analysis allows a person to step back and take the entire problem into account. By using subgoals, a person can take a step back, but that step back ultimately leads to achieving the goal. Hill Climbing does not allow taking a step back. An example would be sagging and letting an opposing player shoot. It might seem like you're making the game easier for them, but you're actually forcing someone else to score, rather than their best players:) Lakers All Day ERRDay!!!! lol
