The aspect of society which contribute to our continuation of he male-dominated language are stereotypes.Since the birth of the male and the female, the males have been known to be the"strongest", taking care of the hard labor work, while the female is seen "weaker" then the male, taking care of the house cleaning. Thus making it easy to classify a doctor a "he" and a nurse a "she".

typically only the english language is male dominated because of the reasons gaby explained. but if you look into other languages, they are half and half. for example, in english the word "doctor" can mean male or female, but it's typically associated with a male. however, in spanish, you have the words "doctor" or "doctora" to show a difference.

The aspect of society creates a certain srereotype that portrays males as a dominant contribution to any language. The female is seen as the weak word.
