The structures of language are Sound, meaning, grammar, and semantics.

Sound and Meaning which include phonemes (indicate changes in meaning) and morphemes (smallest meaningful units of speech; simple words, prefixes and suffixes). Grammar which are rules for structuring sentences and their meaning; two major components are syntax (rules for arranging words into phrases and sentences) and semantics (criteria for assigning meaning to the morphemes in a language).
