a morphene is the smallest unit of language that has meaning and each morpheme changes the meaning of the word.

A morpheme is the smallest component of a linguistic unit and or word, that has semantic meaning.
A phoneme on the other hand is the smallest segmental unit of sound employed to form meaningful contrasts between words.
A morpheme is composed by phonemes in a spoken language.
