what are the differences between clasical conditioning and instrumental conditioning?

Classical conditioning is in which a response naturally elicited by one stimulus comes to be elicited by a different formerly neutral stimulus, like when you here the sirens behind you you naturally move to the side, while instrumental conditioning involves learning conditioning through punishment or a treat. For example if you don't do you're hw you're mother hits you so you naturally learn to do you're hw because you don't want to get hit. =)
