Okay so I'm one of the two Jackies in period 3. I had never really been interested in taking the psychology class until Mr. V called me in to his class. I wasn't even planning on going because psychology wasn't something I was interested in. He somehow convinced me to drop ROP and take his class. I'm happy with the decision I took because so far, it's very interesting! Although its a lot of names and facts, I hope I can remember everything for the AP test in May. Mr. V wasn't the only person who told me to take psychology though. My older (and only) brother graduated UCSB in 2009 with one of his minors being in psychology. He advised me to take the class, and so I did :)
I'm not quite sure where I want to go after graduation, but I know I will continue my studies, even if it's at Hartnell. I hope to use Psychology AP credits in College.
I want to let the class know that I'm Jackie with an "ie" not with a "y"!! Get it right please.

I'm Eddie from third period. I've been interested in psychology since middle school, I've always been interested in how peoples minds work and all that, how people behave when they are stimulated in different ways n what not. Well science in general interests me so i enjoy leaning about psychology. I just hope to pass the AP test, this would be very beneficial if i were to decide to further pursue my studies in this field and even pursue a career in the psychology field. So, after graduation I definitely plan to go on to a four year university, to get a double major, a p.h.d. n make enough money to live in some sort of luxury and be able to financially contribute to the community, also i wanna be able to eat as i please so money will come in handy. I also hope and plan to continue wrestling in college and if not then take up MMA and see where things go from there. If I do have the opportunity to wrestle in college then my dream from there on would be to wrestle in the Olympics. So this year i plan to join Johnny and a few others on the team to the State tournament n make something great happen.

Umm so my name is Richard Tomimbang from period 6. I decided to take psychology because I am really interested on how the mind of a human's/animal's work. So far there are so many things to remember like psychologists and thier theories and other stuff which is kind of overwhelming. After graduation i plan on going to a 4 year university. In the future i plan on being a pedeatrician because im really good with little kids. After college i plan on giving back to the world i plan on helping rebuild homes from natural disasters all over the country and other things people do. Also to wrap it up i plan on traveling with my family and hopefully go to the Phillippines.
My name is Ana Velazquez from period 6. I decided to take psychology because it looked really interesting from what I heard from my cousin Erika. She told me all kinds of interesting things that she learned and said I should take it. She said I would really like enjoy it because it is really interesting. Besides that I also wanted to know why people act the way they do. Well after I finish high school I really want to go to a four year university. I'm not quite sure where yet but I want to continue my education.
Hi everyone.As Jackie said she was one of the two Jackies in period 3, well I'm the other one.
So the reason I'm in this class is kind of a weird way.Last year when I was choosing my classes with my counselor I needed one more class to choose.So my counselor told me to take psychology because it wasn't AP.Well I later find out it is so I was thinking of dropping it.When Jackie went to talk to Mr.V I went with her to ask what the class was like.I was also convinced to take the class because it sounded interesting.I also decided to take the class because people have told me I should be a psychologist, and when i think about it, I'm kind of interested in it.I'm glad the class is at least interesting and not boring as some other AP classes(AP Gov lol).Hopefully I pass the AP test in May.
After graduation, I want to attend a 4 year university.I'll admit I'm scared of not getting accepted somewhere or when the day comes to say goodbye to my parents.I don't exactly know what I want to study, but I'll figure it out soon.

Hello everyone! I'm Karina González from 6th period. I am taking this class because Mr. V is so totally AWESOME!haha (extra credit please!) jk Anywho! I have always found psychology to be quite interesting and the feedback from last year's ap psychology class was all positive. They said it required a lot of reading but that the reading and what they learned was all very interesting. So I decided to give the class a shot and so far i like it a lot. Another big plus is that all my BFF's are taking the class..they're mostly all in 3rd pd though =/
So after graduation i plan on working as a dental assistant thanks to my rop class, and go to Hartnell full time. When I'm done there I plan on being mature enough to make important decisions on my own and i would like to transfer elsewhere to continue my education.I just hope it all works out in the end. Oh and Eddie good luck with making it to state im cheering for you=]
Hey everyone im Valerie:) Wow guys we're seniors!!! Seems only yesterday we were freshmen... Well I just turned 18 so besides the pressure of being a senior I also have to deal with being an "adult", that sounds so weird! Well hmmm, some interesting info on me is I'm the 5th of 6 kids and of the 4 before me, my sister Nancy was the 1st and only in our family to graduate from college (she graduated from CSUMB in 2004) shes my role model and 1 of the reasons I want to further continue my studies after grad. I'm taking psychology because I have always had a fascination for learning about how and why our minds work the way they do. I love reading and filling my mind with interesting info. The AP test sounds a bit intimidating but I'm sure by the end of the year we'l all be ready for anything. After graduation I plan to attend UC Berkeley (I love the campus and the environment there). This past March I spent 3 days there for the UC Berkeley Model United Nations Conference with some of my friends, Ms. Sigmund and Mr.Brusa (I'm the President of the club here at Alisal, want info? ask:)
I plan to major in sociology with a minor in psychology, my other options are to get involved in International Relations and join the Peace Corp (maybe do both!). I want to pursue a career in some type of Human Resource whether its a Clinical Psychologist, a Social Worker, in Public Relations or even a councelor at the high school/college level. I love getting involved, educating people (that's why I'm in Link Crew for the 2nd year and Postpone for the soon to be 3rd year) and knowing "wow i just changed someone's life.." sounds dramatic but oh well.
If i don't get into UC Berkeley (I hope i do!!!) then I'm going to have to leave California:/ My other top choice school is Cornell University (I've already been pre-accepted!!), it's in Ithaca, New York (15 minutes from the city so its awesome). If i attend Cornell, I could have the chance to study abroad with an internship where ever I want! Sounds tempting but I love California and I'd like to live here the rest of my life. Wow i wrote alot... ha! Well if I left something out in my life story here! Just ask:) Can't wait to see what this year will bring for all of us. wooooo c/o 2011!!!!
Hi, I'm Jazmine Zavala from period 3. To start off I was not interested in Psychology until some of my teachers adviced me to do so. I actually listened and now I like that class a lot, i've came to learn a lot of different things i didn't know before, its a very fun class and exciting Mr.V makes it fun and i am glad i am taking this class now, hopefully by the time the AP test comes i'm still able to remember everything. After I graduate from Alisal High School I will be going to college but not here :) i wanna learn experience other things than Salinas. I wanna major in Med. :)
Hey this is Jennifer from third period, i turned 17 on March 30th, im the fourth of five children in my family and im currently taking 5 AP classes. Big WOW!! I never expected that until Mr. V came along one day and pulled me out of my spanish class last year. He began to talk to me about considering taking Psychology and i got to say he was pretty convincing, but i had to really think about it since i already had four AP classes set for the following year. Then the AP meeting came and Mr. V convinced me to sign up for his class, so i was stuck with 5. I got the summer assignment and as i started doing it i got really into it and learned that it was a class i wanted to take. At first i chose to drop AP Eng. but then i got it back. But im glad i stuck with this class because Mr. V is AWESOME (like karina said) and im sure it will be a great class. After graduation i plan on attending one of the following, UCLA, UCSB, UCI, Stanford or NYU, maybe Columbia. Most likely taking part either in the Medical field or Math. Something else about me I run for fun, have done 6th half marathons, i also love to travel and hang out with my family and closest friends. Cant wait for the rest of this year, making it a memorable last year of high school. :)

Hey my name is Emily Garnica im in 3rd period. So im the oldest girl in my family I have two brothers and a sister(you probably seen her around school shes my twin) I also have 1 year old nephew who brought our family together. My future goals are to attend a four year university I just dont know where. I want to study sports medicine and hope to one day become a sports therapist of physical therapist. I want to hopefully one day travel the world and see whats out of California. Thats one of the reasons I kinda have the University of Florida in mind for college. Well the reason Im taking this class is because well at first I thought AP wow thats going to be alot of work but then i realized that this class would help me some where along in my future. The reason why i cho0sed psychology over the rest, was because since my mom & i started going to therapy(like 6 yrs ago) haha, i started liking how the psychoanalysis does his/her job. hola. well my name is LIZETTE(usually ppl spell it wrong) anywho im taking this class b/c i had decided a very long time ago what i wanted to be when i grew up. i think it's so weird but interesting how our minds work and how because of that we act a certain way. in my head a psychologist was the person you went to and talked to while laying down on the couch.. but now i see there is much more to it.i guess this class will help me finally decide if i want to become a psychologist or not. i knew a bunch of ppl taking the class last year and they said i would like it so yeah im taking it. after graduation im getting out of salinas and going to any 4 year university. i want to be a social worker but am also planning on going to medical school. i did this thing over the summer at SVMHS and would like to be some type of surgeon. My name is Manuel Zarazua. I am still don't have a clear picture of where I want to go. The reason why I wanted to take this class is because psychology interested me. Many of the seniors from last year encouraged me to take this class. Something that is intersting abokut me is that I was born on the Day of the Dead which is November 2. For those people that don't know what it is, the Day of the Dead is when you remember those who passed away. I am the oldest of four. I have one sister and two brothers. I am basically the role model for the three.

ummm some intresting things about me are that i love going out especially to dance!! im lucky so i have two dads=) i love them both but i love my step dad more since he has been there for me since i was like 5! so yeah hes like my bff in a way.

Im Gladis Tena. I am taking psychology for many reasons. One, of the reasons being is because i am really intereted in how the mind works. I am also taking psychology because i am thinking on making psychology a career. I love helping people, and i would like to understand why we are the way we are. I also like the fact that if i pass the test, it will count as college credits. After high school i plan on going to college hopefully to Santa Cruz and major in either psychology or Eco studies.
To start off my name is Daniel Jauregui. I like to do sports such as, running and swimming. Some of the subjects that i have an intrest in are, math and of course psychology. The reason I am taking this class is because like i said before is i like this field of study, because it involves a complex deep thinking of ones inner self. After graduating from high school I want to go to a four year university and major in Engineering. Something i also hope to do in the future is that I hope to travel around the world to get an exposure to diffrent communities and people.

Hello world!:) Well, to start off, my name is Ricardo but people call me Ricky... for some apparent reason. I am the youngest of three children, but at my house, i'm pretty much like an only child because my brothers moved out and I'm the only one left. It has its benefits, but it can get pretty boring being alone at times. Well, the reason I'm taking psychology is because Mr. Ashby recommended me (or so I'm told), but mainly, I'm taking psychology because I have always been fascinated by the subject. I always wanted to know what makes a person think the way they do, and act the way we do as well. Also, i wanted to know why people can't cope well with certain problems like others do. Upon graduation, i plan to get out of Salinas and start fresh, where nobody knows me. I don't plan to take the path that everyone else seems to take with their "standard" college/university and what not...but i do plan to continue my education by going to a music school(college) down in LA. I WILL accomplish [notice that i did not put "hope"] my dream in pursing a professional music career in both pop and blues music. I plan to have fans that will sing my songs back to me, and possibly share the stage with the great Eric Clapton, and B.B.King (hopefully he continues to be alive). Yup, music is my path. As senior year comes to an end, I hope to leave your class with the most positive feedback, like your past students. :)
Hey so I guess I'm like a little behind schedule.. sorry. So basically I kinda got a little taste of psychology last year but through a literature perspective when we were studying Oedipus and the edip complex. I had a free period on 3rd hour so I decided to pick up psychology. I hope we get to the fun stuff soon. :)
Well first of all I just wanna get through this year as fast as possilbe and then head East! I'm looking into Wellesley college near Boston. This year should be easy. I'm doing cross country, soccer and either swimming or track.

Well first of all I'm Jeanette from 6th period (the better Jeanette) haha kidding. I wanted to take the class because it seemed interesting to know why we react the way we do to situations in our life and how the human brain works. I also want to become a psychologist after I graduate and I want to attend SJSU. My second career if I decide to switch from psychologist to something else would be a kinder-garden teacher. My writing sucks I'll tell you that ha. I like anything that involves art and I've been playing tennis since I was a sophomore. I am horrible at taking test. I can understand what is going on in class but when it comes to test i shut down and mess up. :( I am also horrible at math I can't seem to get it at all. I enjoy reading and plan on breaking the top AR points in the school before i graduate. The number one thing I will do when I graduate is well wait to turn 18 in July 1st then move away from Salinas. I can't wait to get out of here. Oh and Mr.V thanks for letting me put my water in your refrigerator so it would be cold for my tennis practice :]
Hi my name is Adriana Gonzalez, senior class president, i am the smallest of 3. i have two older sisters that are now married and have kids. i grew up with only my mom, my dad passed away when i was 7 but i really never met him. he died of alcohol abuse and that has greatly influenced the way i behave, i realized that i did not want to have an end like my father's and that is why i want to study do i could have a better future for myself and my own kids in the future. I decided to take psychology because I have always been really curios of how everything works and i thought that maybe i should take the class to get most of my questions answered. i also had interest in the class because i might want to pursue a career in the field of psychology but i am still not sure, i will see how this year will go i i'll go from then... after graduation i hope i could go straight to a four year university but if i don't get the chance then i will most definitely be going to Hartnell and try to transfer to UCSB. i really hope that all my fellow classmates enjoy this year in the class like i have so far!=]

My sister also advised me that I would really enjoy this class because she already took something similar like this course in college. At first i wasn't sure about taking your class because it involved a lot of reading and im not a reading person I usually go blank. Well hello class, my name is Mariela Guido. I'm in Mr. V's 6th period. Well I decided to take the class because Mr. V went to my AVID class and made a presentation for us and pretty much everything that he told us was really interesting. I also took it because it falls with something that it's needed in criminal law. After I graduate I would like to go to college but I still don't know where i really want to go. I feel scared when people tell me about college because I kind of figure that it will be really difficult and I won't really know what to do. I guess that once I get to my college life I will just live through it like I do everyday of my life. One thing that I really want to do after I graduate is to have reunions with my high school friends.

Hello, I'm Manny Negrete from the 3rd period class.I'm 5"9', 140 pounds, and I currently style long black hair. I have dark brown eyes and i wear retainers. I won't bore you with my life story but i'll share few details. I am the oldest of 3 kids, I'm taking 5 AP classes and I'm planning on doing cross country(XC), soccer, and track this year. Hopefully I will make it to state in XC, hopefully I can help deliver another CCS title and hopefully I could make it to CCS in track again. Too much info, I know. I always wanted to take psychology because I thought I would learn how to read people's body language and eventually be good enough to know their exact feelings.After graduation I want to apply to UCLA Berkeley NYU UCDavis and some IV leagues. Hopefully I get accepted and I will spend my 4 years in a university. Well, I really dont wanna talk to much about myself, but I am really glad to have taken psychology.

I have always wondered why do people think a certain way or how people react differently in experiments. Another thing I want to learn about is how people have different characters and what is the cause of how people develop.

So this is Jeanette Rocha from period 6th. Since I could remember I've been interested in Psychology. The minute I could I signed up for this class. After high school I plan to go to a four year university, preferably UCSB and major in Psychology with a minor in something else. Photography perhaps? One day I plan to own my own private practice. Name suggestions anyone? Haha. Which also ties in with this class because if I do pass the A.P test it'll show universities how serious I am about Psychology. The subject itself just fascinates me. Although sometimes it may be hard for me to do well on certain things like tests it doesn't mean I don't care about. Within the next 5 years I want to follow my dreams and make them come true. I'll good on a hot-air balloon and go to France. One day I'll be fortunate to say I've traveled the world but for now I'll just day dream about it. Not in class though. Haha. I'm Veronica from 3rd period. The reason why I decided to get AP Psychology was when Mr. Voightschild went into Gutierrez's 1st period. It seems really interesting to know how the mind works. I decided to take it so that I could challenge myself with AP classes. So far this class is good except for the fact that I get soo confused on the words. I did read but I have trouble remembering them and what they mean. I also decided to take psychology since I want to go off into the medical field. I want to be a surgeon or just a doctor who finds out why a person is sick. I will be the first to graduate and I hope to go off to a 4-year college like to Long Beach or to Riverside. If not, I won't mind going to Hartnell as long as "you get you lr stuff done and transfer" like my boyfriend told me.
Hello!! My name is Gaby Pantoja, from sixth period. Why did I chose to take Psychology? That's a very good question. I think I was well influenced by the fact that the subject of this AP class is not some boring subject like Economics, no offense to economics fans. Its a different type of AP class, one that you can find very fascinating and become very educated by with useful tips that can be used on a daily bases. I think I was also influenced by the knowledge that my sister has after receiving her Master's Degree in Psychology. After high school I plan on attending a four year university. I'm not sure where exactly, my acceptance letters will say, but I was really thinking UC Irvine. Or maybe just maybe my basketball will have a say in where I decide to go. Basketball is #3 on my list of priorities, but at times it might be #2 over school, haha. So, I look forward to having a great year in this class.

Hey I'm Johnny Alonzo from third period. I started off the year with psychology sixth period and dropped it only to be convinced by Mr.V to return to it that same day. Other than being convinced I wanted to learn about why humans behave how they do and be able to read peoples body language like Manny. This year I hope to help my team to take the most state qualifiers in Alisal history while helping the younger wrestlers (including my little brother) who are the future of the program. Individually this year my goal is to make state again and place in the top six to become an All-American and compete at the National level. I'm Brenda from third period. I'm taking psychology because like many other people, I want to learn more on how the mind works. After graduation, I hope to go to the California Culinary Academy. Not the typical 4 year university shenanigans. Not that its a bad thing either because if i don't do the pastry course at the culinary academy then I'll do something that has to do with anthropology. I'm the youngest of four but luckily not the shortest. I currently have four foster kids that have been with me for quite some time now. It can get irritating at times but I've come to deal with it. I like to bake & lately i have been almost everyday. That's about it.

I always wanted to take psychology, the only thing was I had no clue what it'd be like it was like a crush so to speak, you like a person before you've even bothered to get to know them. It was in my chemistry class, last year, where Erika Velasquez convinced me to take and after all she told me, I was hooked. I really hope she wasn't yanking my chain :D . After I graduate from Alisal, I hope to go to UCDavis and pursue becoming a doctor, if my priorities change I can see myself as a psychiatrist. Schooling aside, I want to travel the world, live in Japan for a few years and sky dive to my hearts' content, and maybe become a millionaire through the lottery ( hey it can happen :D )

Hello everyone! My name is Mayra Juarez. I’m in period 6. I have freckles :) and I don’t feel like spilling my life story. I chose to take psychology because I think it’s just fascinating. I’m a very curious person and I was one of those children that would always ask “why?” I’m interested in psychology because I want to understand all the why’s and how’s, I think it would help me understand others and myself better. The subject is about a lot of weird stuff, and I have to admit I’m a little weird myself. What I want to achieve from this class is more knowledge and understanding. My favorite sport is tennis and I enjoy acting and dancing. It’s scary but I still don’t know exactly what I want to do with my life, most likely forensics though. I know for sure I want to go off to a good university, (either in California or New York) have wonderful experiences, and do something great, something I love.
